Dry Shampoo - Tried and Tested

If you're anything like me, then you know how annoying it is to have oily hair! I could literally wash my hair every single day but there are a few reasons I don't, which I will go into soon. The purpose of dry shampoo is to soak up oil, give you a clean feeling without the need for water and give your hair a nice smell in between washes. If you do wash your hair everyday, you can use it to give you volume, it's fantastic for that.
Dry shampoo is an absolute staple in my hair routine and I have been in the hunt to find the perfect one for me. I have very fine, thin hair, that is easily damaged further by the process of washing, drying, brushing and styling. Not to mention all of that is time consuming! In trying to thicken up my hair and make it more healthy I have been taking silica, not brushing it as much and only washing my hair after 3 days. Hence, the need for a good dry shampoo!

I am going to talk about the 3 that I have tried in recent months. Remember that what I talk about is simply MY experience with these products. You might have a different view to me and that's great, that's why I call my blog Beauty Talk. I want to hear your experiences too.  Everyone has different hair, and different needs, these are just mine. I love reading other blogs about the same things to see what others' thoughts are.

1. Umberto Giannini Glam Hair - Morning After Dry Shampoo
can get one day out of this one, as it doesn't take out all the grease, just reduces it. Spraying again the next day just feels more greasy and gross. There is a white cast that comes with spraying this on my hair and it needs to be brushed out really well to remove the ashy look it leaves. The smell for me is too overpowering, I cant explain the scent but its not nice. It does give volume and texture though! I have put this in the 'will use it only when I run out of my holy grail' category but I will not repurchase.

2. Tresemme Instant Refresh Volumising Dry Shampoo for fine to oily hair
I love the smell of this one and it does not leave a white powder......But that's it. That's all I like. I really wanted to love it because I do love their hairspray, shampoo and conditioners.... But no. It's terrible for my hair. It actually made my hair MORE greasy and I had to wash it sooner. I'm very disappointed in it to be honest.

3. Batiste Dry Shampoo Medium and Brunette with a hint of colour
Hands down the best product that does everything a dry shampoo should! I have tried 2 others from Batiste and whilst they were great too, I found the white powder a pain to make sure it was all brushed out. Not an issue with this one as it comes out brunette. It's is so easy and quick to use, so my hair is easy to style and I can get out the door. It takes out all of the oil, brushes out easily and makes my hair look like it has been washed. Honestly, if I ever found myself not able to wash my hair for a 4th day, I could probably get away with it using this stuff.

I will continue to repurchase this product until I find, or someone convinces me of something else equal or better out there!
I bought all of these dry shampoos from my local Woolworths, but they are available in many chemists and supermarkets all over. You will find them easily.

So, do you use dry shampoo? Which ones do you love? I'd love to hear from you and try your suggestions.

Love Emma xx
