Loreal Infallible 24H liquid Foundation Review

Hi there!! So, today I'll be talking about a recent discovery of mine (I know, slow to jump on that bandwagon) The Loreal Infallible 24H Liquid Foundation.

This is one I've heard lots about but never picked it up, I think because it's actually quite pricey here in Australia and I hate paying full price for something and then ending up being disappointed! But I picked it up half price at my local Chemist Warehouse and they are always having sales, so it's great knowing you can always get a bargain with something! This cost me around $15 half price.
I bought the shade 140 Golden Beige.

What Loreal claims: A makeup with superior hold and moisturising comfort for 24 hour flawless coverage, no touch ups required. Fighting imperfections and shine without compromising on moisture, skin is left truly infallible.
There are 7 shades available in this range and it also comes in a matte version. I didn't choose the matte because I didn't think it would go well on my dry skin.

My thoughts:
I think the glass packaging is great and having a pump is awesome. I believe all foundations should come with a pump! I notice that one pump can stretch out to one layer on my face if it's a very thin layer, I tend to just pump out a tiny bit more to feel comfortable with the coverage.
You need to work quickly with this as it sets pretty quickly, so don't leave a blob on your face for too long or it will be difficult to blend out. Applying it section by section is sometimes a good idea. I don't find it too thin or too thick  and it doesn't feel cakey at all. When using this foundation I only ever need to put concealer on my dark undereye circles, but no need anywhere else. It has a slight scent but nothing offensive and I like the yellow undertone to it.
I love the finish this foundation gives first up, although I haven't tried it without a primer so I don't know how it holds up like that. I always use a moisturising primer so foundation can't cling to dry patches of my face. The coverage is medium but can be built up without looking cakey, I only ever build it up over the top of my cheekbones where I have some pigmentation. There's no need to build it up anywhere else, it evens out the skin tone beautifully on the other parts of my face.  Depending on the primer I use, sometimes I can get a bit oily in the T zone after a few hours and need to blot. I know this is the primer/foundation combo because some of my primers don't do this with that foundation at all and I have dry skin, not oily at all.
Lasting power is amazing, but not 24Hour amazing. Let's be real, no one is going to wear a foundation on their skin for 24 hours! I don't know why they put that on the bottles.. It's kind of annoying because A, it's not true and B, no one is going to leave it on for that long to find out. Well, I'm not anyway 😊
Overall, I really love this foundation. It looks lovely on my skin and lasts a long  time before I see it start to wear off. If I can look at my face after 10 hours and still be impressed then it's a winner for me! I always choose this one if I know I need full on lasting power, I also use a powder over it for extra wear time. Thumbs up from me!!

Born Pretty Store Holo Polish

Hey! I'm going to share my thoughts on this holographic polish I picked out to review from the Born Pretty Store. I got #12, which is a really different choice for me!

This polish comes in a small size (6ml) and has different colours to choose from. The formula is pigmented enough that you could get away with one thick coat, but I did 2 for fuller coverage. I used this twice in 2 different ways (with and without top coat) to test longevity and found that it lasted much longer with 2 coats and a good topcoat on it.

I have included some pictures of each day. I didn't take one after I applied the polish, I waited until it was on for a full 24 hours. Hence the pictures starting on day 2.

Although it is a good formula, I wasn't that impressed with the lasting effect of this polish. Keep in mind I'm a kindergarten teacher, so my job is pretty hands on and chipping happens easily with most of my nail products.
I would recommend this product to those who love the holographic effect, and to those who like to do clever things with nail art. The way the glitter sparkles in the sun is actually really pretty! I would probably pick a different colour for myself next time.

PROS are the formula is great, pigmentation great, smell not too strong and looks really pretty.
CONS are it chipped on me easily,  and I think the price is high for such a small bottle of product.

This polish retails for $12.88 USD - around $16.13 AU. In my opinion that is too high for any nail polish. However, the website have sales on right now and this polish is currently $9.68 AU and they have some absolutely beautiful colours to choose from!

Born Pretty Store were kind enough to give me a 10% off code for my readers to use when purchasing.
Here is the code: AEMH10

So if you want to try this pretty polish for yourself you can find it here

My Current 5 Favourite Nudes...

Hi guys! today I want to share with you my favourite 5 Nude lipsticks of the moment.

never want to hear someone say to me "there's no way you wear ALL of that makeup" so what I do is a regular rotation of products so that I am re using things again and again and they aren't just sitting in my drawer for months. My lipsticks are no different. I wear a different one every day and sometimes, just sometimes I find myself sitting there swatching them all over my arms picking new ones to wear. Silly? Maybe....

But that's what my blog is for! To share with you why I love them all instead of talking to myself! Haha.

Here they are! Hope you enjoy reading.

1. NYX Butter Gloss - Tiramisu
Love, love, love. I have said it before, the best glosses I've had so far. They aren't too thick or sticky. They have a lovely sweet scent and come in a variety of colours. The colour Tiramisu is a stunning natural brown colour with a slight hint of pink. This can be worn alone or on top of a lipstick, either way a definite favourite of mine and I'm excited to build up my collection of these. At around $10, I highly recommend.

2. Too Faced Melted Nude
I am a big fan of Too faced products in general, everything I have tried has been high quality. I own 3 of these melted lipsticks and love them all. I like the way they apply evenly and easily with the sponge tip applicator and they don't wear off patchy. They are not a gloss, but not matte either. They are glossy to begin with and then dry down a bit to a more matte finish, but not completely. The only thing I can pick on with this product is the lasting power. If you don't eat or drink, they last a lot longer. If you do, you will only get a few hours out of these and will need to reapply. This particular colour is a beige type colour with a peachy shade to it which I find goes with most types of eye looks. Overall, I love this colour and wear it often, both alone and mixed with other colours. They are around $28 in Australia.

3. LA Girl Glazed Lip Paint - Whisper
Love this brand, love this colour!! Whisper is a very unique beautiful shade of nude. It's very pale, and probably wouldn't suit all skin tones but could easily be mixed with another colour. I'm a fan of mixing colours! I love to wear this alone though, with only a lip liner to help define my lips. The formulation is amazing and I love the scent. I have done a separate review on these if you'd like to read it. :)

4. Rimmel Apocalips - Nude Eclipse
I have back ups of this one, that's how much I love it. It's my perfect nude colour, especially with a dark eye look. There needs to be colour on the rest of your face with this one, to save you looking dead. It's a pale beige nude, with just the slightest hint of pink. The applicator is doe foot, which make application easy if you don't want to wear a lip liner, but it's easy to apply too much so be careful! They smell a little funny but not offputting. If you haven't tried an Apocalips, I recommend them.

5. NYX Black Label Lipstick - Nude
Great lipstick, it's very moisturising and creamy. This one is a light peachy toned colour, again great with a smokey eye. It doesn't have amazing lasting power, but for the price, it's worth it for the colour.
This is around the $7 -$9 mark.

Here are some swatches in order 1 - 5, left to right :)

Morphe 35O Palette...

Hi beauties! I have to tell you about this palette. The Morphe 35O. You would have already seen how hyped up it is all over the internet, if you are on Instagram especially. I saw on Mooie Makeup's Facebook page that they had introduced Morphe Palettes onto their website and for $55 dollars it's a bargain too good to miss. With 35 shadows it equates to $1.57 per shadow. Brilliant. You can find this on the Morphe website too when it's not sold out, which it has been for a while now. Hopefully they will be restocked soon!

Amongst the 35 shadows of absolute gorgeousness you will see a range of warm eye catching colours with a good mix of matte, satin, metallic and shimmery shades to do many pretty looks with. The shadows are amazing quality! They are pigmented, buttery and blend so easily. It's very hard to fault this palette.

As you will see from the swatches, some of the paler matte shades don't appear as pigmented as others, but I'm ok with that and in real life they show up more. Honestly I don't think the photos do the colours justice at all. There's nothing like the real thing.
This will give you an idea anyway :)

                                                                          ROW -1

                                                                               ROW - 2

                                                                      ROW - 3

                                                                          ROW - 4

                                                                        ROW - 5

If you love your neutrals and your warm tones, then you have got to get your hands on this. I think that it is amazing, and for the price you cannot go wrong! Keep and eye out on Morphe website or the Mooie Makeup website (if you live in Aus) for them to be back in stock!

Please leave a comment and tell me if you are lucky enough to already have this, or if you are hanging out to get one! I love hearing from you :)

DB Longwear 24 Hour Foundation

Designer Brands are an Australian based company boasting inexpensive, high quality products bought to you through many pharmacies across the country. I had seen it but never bought it because I have bought pharmacy makeup brands before that have been just terrible and I assumed this would be no different. I heard about this particular Designer Brands foundation through watching a review by you-tuber Crystal Conte, who was very suprised by how good the foundation lasted on her skin. I still had my doubts. But for $12.99, I thought it was a shot worth taking!

I bought the shade 650 Nude Beige.

What DB claims:
- Full coverage
- Doesn't cake, flake or feel heavy
- Lasts 24 hours
- Suitable for all skin types

My thoughts:
This foundation is most definitely full coverage. I only need one pump of the product and that gives me one layer plus a small amount to add a light second layer over the tops of my cheek bones for a little extra coverage. There is no need for a second layer, but because I was testing the no caking claim, I did once or twice put a second layer on to see what happened. It didn't look like a mask which I appreciated, and did not look cakey either. Great. It feels lightweight on the skin and I compare it to the feeling of the Rimmel 25 hr foundation which I don't like at all because it's thick and serum like. designer brands didn't feel like that at all.
As for the 24 hr claim, I would never leave my makeup on for that long so can't comment on that. However, I work very long days, and I can have this foundation on for up to 14 hours at a time. It holds up EXCEPTIONALLY well. I always apply a primer before hand and only sometimes use powder depending on how I feel. Either way, I am so impressed that a foundation so inexpensive, is such good quality.
I have normal to dry skin, which some foundations can cling to in certain areas of my face at times but again, this one does not do that. It sits on my skin beautifully and has a slight dewy finish without looking oily.
The packaging of this foundation i would describe as classy. It's a nice frosted glass bottle with a black lid and it also comes with a pump. I really like foundations with a pump as I feel they are much more hygienic. Again comparing it to my other foundations, if I wanted a pump with my Nars foundation I would have had to pay another $4 for it. No thanks.

In conclusion, I have reached for this foundation over any of of my others including high end, every day since I bought it 2 weeks ago. I love it!! I will continue to repurchase this one without a doubt.
If there is anything not to love about this product, it would be that it is only available in 4 shades which would not cater for every skin tone out there. For summer, I plan to buy the next shade up and mix the two to get a deeper shade for when I'm more tanned.

Very impressed Designer Brands.... Very impressed.

Review - Maple Holistics Shampoo & Conditioner

Today I will let you know my thoughts on this shampoo and conditioner by Maple Holistics. I was recently lucky enough to receive these products to try and have been pleasantly surprised by how impressed I am with them.

Maple Holistics is a USA based company that have one goal in mind: "to provide a natural, holistic range of premium products which can enhance hygiene, health and daily living." They pride themselves on their holistic promise and:
   * Using only the purest and highest quality ingredients in each product
* Providing a 100% quality guarantee on all products
* Money back guarantee
* Being silicon, paraben and cruelty free

The 'Sage Special Formula Shampoo'

What the website says:
"One of Maple Holistics most original and best-selling formulas, Sage Shampoo can help eliminate dandruff in an easy and natural way. No longer do those with moderate-to-heavy dandruff plaguing the scalp area have to suffer the embarrassment and inconvenience that comes along with ‘dandruff dust shoulders’ – guaranteed."

What I think:
I am a sufferer of a skin condition called Psoriasis, which is an eczema 'type' condition. It is mainly on my scalp and is usually best controlled by prescription lotions. So in regard the dandruff control, I can't really provide an informed comment on that. What I can do is tell you that this shampoo made my hair feel clean and healthy, with a notable difference in the general feel of my hair. I found the scent very herb like and strong at first but it grew on me after a few washes. Fantastic shampoo, if you like the smell.

The 'Silk18 Natural Conditioner'

What the website says:
"Years of research have been dedicated to formulating a blend of conditioning agents which can maximize smooth hairness, have no potentially harmful additives, and be effective for all hair types. Silk18 Conditioner is the end result – an all-in-one conditioner which contains a perfectly balanced synergy of nature’s most efficient conditioning ingredients to maximize moisture retention capacity for silky, flowing hair."
What I think:
I love this conditioner! It not only makes my hair silky soft and manageable, but it smells amazing!! It has a beautiful vanilla scent to it that sticks to the hair. I especially noticed this just recently when at work my hair blew across my face and I could smell the conditioner, even though I had put 2 other products in my hair before blow drying! I would definetly re-purchase this conditioner again. I'm a fan. I would definetly say that the 'maximum moisture retention' part of Maple Holistics claim is true. My hair does not feel dry at all.

Overall I was really happy with these products! With the exception of of the scent of the sage shampoo (which is a personal preference thing) I really can't fault them. My hair feels soft and shiny, moisturised and healthy. I would recommend anyone to try them.

You can see what other products this company has here

Benefit - Beauty Kits

Today I want to show you my makeup kits by Benefit. Benefit is a company that have many excellent products, they have numerous items owned by makeup lovers everywhere and their packaging is always original and fun. Benefit's kits contain a variety of well known, popular products in travel sizes and they all have interesting and quirky names. They come equipt with a numbered step by step guide to using each item, a mirror and a brush for any products that require one. I find that most of them can be used with your fingers if you needed to anyway.  I have loved everything I have tried in my kits so far.

The thing I love the most about Benefit makeup kits is that if you are not willing to shell out for a full sized product before trying it out, then you don't have to and that is the exact reason I bought my first one -
                                                          'Primping  With The Stars'.

This particular kit of cult classics has the following products:
1- Stay Don't Stray eyeshadow primer
2- The Porefessional pore vanishing primer
3- Some Kinda Gorgeous Foundation
4- Benetint lip and cheek stain
5- Girl Meets Pearl liquid pearl illuminater for face
6- They're Real Mascara

The second kit I purchased was -
                                                                      'Cabana Glama'

It contains:
1- Some Kinda Gorgeous foundation
2- Hoola bronzing powder with brush
3- Eyeshadow palette with dual ended applicator
4- Posietint lip and cheek stain

The third and last kit I have is -
                                                                      'Go Tropi-Coral'

It has:
1- Cha Cha Tint lip and cheek stain
2- Coralista cheek powder with brush
3- High Beam liquid highlighter
4- Coralista lip gloss

I really love to pull these out every now and then and add them to my constant rotation of different products, also I always take them travelling with me if I have to travel light. They are great to pop into my bag without taking up much room or getting damaged. As previously mentioned, I love that I can try the product to see if it works for me and if it does, then I can buy the full sized version. The boxes can be kept for use after the products have been used up too which is an added bonus!

I plan on trying more of these kits when the chance arises and there are many to choose from. All of these I have purchased at Benefit counters either in Melbourne or at Sydney airport. If you are like me and live in little old Tassie, I think we have a counter in Hobart. Of course as always, you can purchase online.

Do you have any of these? Which ones do you love? I hope I have inspired you to try these awesome products from Benefit, whichever you choose you won't be disappointed!
